The moment we will remember
Fifty kilometres inside a wall of freezing fog, with ice forming on gloves, face masks and the fronts of jackets. When condensation made Peter’s prescription glasses useless he passed them back to JB, told her to pocket them, and rode the rest of the course without them.
“We did not get the day we imagined. We got the day that asked us to become more.”

Rolled out at 7:05 AM and finished at 1:51:44 PM: 100 km in 3:06:51, 100 miles in 5:22:37, 177.87 km standing at the six-hour mark, and 200 km in 6:46:59 — all from one continuous effort. The 200 km marker post had been stolen the night before, so the crew stopped at the 100 km line thinking it was the finish; we flew past shouting “Next one, next one!” and they scrambled back into the vehicle to beat us to the real one. Every result is now with WUCA and Guinness for verification.
